We're looking for some motivated, creative, and kid-loving volunteers to run a Dashain Vacation Camp in Surkhet from October 1-30. Do you like working with kids? Is there something that you love to do that you would like to teach kids about too? We're looking for volunteers to teach small groups of students fun activities like art, sports, performance, reading, drama, cooking, etc.
We're the BlinkNow Foundation, the organization in charge of the Kopila Valley Children's Home & School in Surkhet, Nepal. Our mission is to provide an education and a loving, caring home for orphaned, impoverished, and at-risk children. We also provide community outreach to reduce poverty, empower women, improve health, and encourage sustainability and social justice.
Our school will be closed for the entire month of October for the Dashain holiday. Many of our students will be out of town visiting family in other villages, but some of them will still be around. We'd love to provide some fun, educational activities to keep them busy for the month, just like summer camp!
Ideally we'd love some volunteers who could spend the entire month with us. We'd be happy to cover travel costs by bus from Kathmandu or other parts of Nepal. We'll also provide housing, lunch, and dinner.
