Last week, a beautiful 6-7 year old female German shepherd was abandoned in front of my gate. A likely victim of a puppy mill, she has one ear that has been badly mutilated, but still has a very kind temperament and is very patient with my puppy. Initially, she refused to eat or drink and seemed unable to walk more than a few feet at a time. The neighbors called the KAT center to see if they could assist, but unfortunately they were unable to help her long-term and suggested euthanasia as the most humane option. Given the gentle, smart, loving nature of this dog, I couldn’t let her be killed because of others cruelty and I have taken her in temporarily until I can find her a permanent home. She has been spayed and has her initial vaccinations and has recovered into a very docile, friendly. She is quickly picking up on training and has already learned to sit, lie down, and shake. She would do best in a home without cats as she fixates and barks, but would do well with other dogs. Contact Christine at 9803917505 for more information.
