My family is preparing to make a move at the end of this school year (Early June) and we hope to be able to help our amazing Didi Nisha find new employment. Nisha has cared for our two boys (Felix, 5 years old and Theo, 20 months old) for the past 4 years. I believe many of you and your staff know Nisha from the playgroups, music and art classes around town. We have often received comments from other families about how lucky we are to have such a devoted and capable Didi to care for our children. Nisha speaks very good English and can read and write in English as well. She has a wide variety of experience dating back to 1988 when she started working with foreign families. She has been employed by the British Embassy Deputy Head of Mission, UN, DFID, ILO and SDC families and has documentation of her great service for them. The previous family she worked for was a CIWIC doctor whose infant had health conditions and required special care. She came to us highly recommended. Nisha has worked with children from newborn (including our own), to upper elementary and has a calm and caring approach with children. Our son Theo waits at the door every morning and when she arrives she is greeted with an excited “DIDI!”
In addition to caring for the children, Nisha has managed our house and helped us live comfortably and worry free here in Kathmandu. She has been a valuable advisor, translator, baby-sitter, bill manager, you name it and she has helped us with it. She is proactive and works to anticipate and avoid problems for the family. Nisha has also taken an earthquake safety course with previous employers. We will sorely miss her as she has become a part of our family.
If you are looking for someone to care for your children or know of new families arriving in Kathmandu I highly recommend contacting Nisha. Please feel free to contact me, or Nisha.
