Sal's Pizza's Penthouse, one of Kathmandu’s most desirable residences, is once again on the market. This SPECIAL SUMMERTIME ONLY OFFER for this normally only on Airbnb rental, is set at a discounted, low-season rate. The fully furnished apartment is available from June 3 through the end of September. The minimal rental period is for at least one month. Rental for three months or longer will earn a 10,000 NPR discount taken from the last month's rent.

The apartment occupies the whole third floor of the building on a narrow alleyway (Nursery Marg) in Lazimpat (a fifteen-minute walk from Thamel). It consists of four rooms: a large living room/office, a spacious bedroom, a fully-equipped solarium style kitchen and a modern, Western-style bathroom. A large garden patio fronts the entrance to the flat, and there is easy access to the rooftop above for sunbathing and laundry drying. The patio offers a dining area with views over the back of the Indian Embassy and a neighboring nursery garden. A ping-pong table and barbarcue grill is also available on the patio. The large bedroom has a very comfortable super Queen mattress, luxury silk linens, and a separate balcony overlooking the restaurant's lovely front garden. The living room/office has a flat-screen TV, desktop computer, printer, and more. The couch in the living room opens up to become a comfortable bed for short-term guests. There is also a small dining table and an almost too-comfortable reclining lounge chair. The kitchen has everything you need for in-home cooking.

 

Amenities include hot water in the sinks and the shower, free drinking water, available cleaning service (for a small charge), and immediate access to a really tasty restaurant just two floors below! Service is available until 10 PM. 

 

On the ground level, there is a free washing machine for laundry, or you can have laundry done for 250 NPR per load. There is room for parking one motorcycle. 

 

The apartment is located in Lazimpat in a convenient off-the-beaten-track alleyway behind the Indian Embassy.  It is only a two-minute walk to public transportation on Lazimpat Road, the main artery running through Kathmandu. The trendy embassy area is well stocked with numerous restaurants catering to every income level; plenty of shopping opportunities abound and a Big Mart grocery store is just a three-minute walk away. A Bhat Bhattini Superstore is just 8 minutes away by motorbike. 

 

This apartment is ideal for a single traveler or perhaps a couple living together looking for a short to mid-term, comfortable location with little stress. No buying and selling furniture, kitchenware, towels, etc. Just bring your own toothbrush! Rental scheduling can be somewhat flexible. It is true that this apartment is not a budget option for those looking for genuinely inexpensive lodging. There are cheaper options available in Kathmandu. The rent is 40,000 NPR or $300 per month for limited space. However, that amount does cover EVERYTHING! There are no additional charges for heat, electricity, water, cable TV, Netflix, WIFI, trash removal, drinking water, or parking for a motorcycle.
