The Foundation fulfills its mission by providing financial support and management oversight to the Children’s Home and Kopila Valley School in Surkhet, Nepal.


About the position: The Middle School English Teacher Fellow is the primary English teacher for the students in Grades 3-5 at the Kopila Valley School.

  • You will be given a full-time teaching load including classes and work with a dedicated Kopila faculty.
  • You have a mind for creating culturally relevant course materials, homework assignments, assessments and lesson plans.
  • You maintain student records such as attendance, report cards, and grades.
  • You plan, evaluate, and revise curricula, course content, and materials.
  • You possess skills and knowledge when it comes to working with non-native English speakers. ESL/ TOEFL certificates or training is not a requirement but will stand out.
  • You have a desire to foster the love of learning, critical thinking, problem solving and teamwork in your students.
  • You use creative teaching techniques such as poetry, short stories, news articles, and books to develop our students' oral and written communication skills.
  • You are patient and inspiring with an encouraging attitude that makes students feel confident, competent and excited to learn. You love what you do.
