For those who missed it last month, The
International Club again presents another Introduction to
Flamenco Dance
Workshop with guest teacher Maradee de Guzman of Clara
Ramona and Co. For a limited time only, flamenco dance
classes will be
held starting April 9 to May 4, 2012 AD. Sign up for this intense art
form from Spain that will
be taught for a limited time only in Nepa
l.
The initial
class schedule will be held Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Two time
slots will be opened, 1:00-2:15pm and 6:00-7:15pm and last an hour and
fifteen minutes each. Classes will cover the following technique,
movements and combinations: Ritmos (rhythm), Vueltas (turns),
Taconeos/Zapateados (footwork), Brazeos (armwork), Palmas (rhythmic
clapping. They will be conducted at the International club studio. This
bold art form is for both men and women alike. Your confidence,
creativity, rhythm, coordination, strength and expression will be
developed in these classes.
Classes are on going, anyone can join at anytime but individuals are encouraged to join as early as possible to maximize the learning experience.

Sevillanas
is a fun and exciting Spanish popular dance that enlivens any party and is
essential in the repertoire of any flamenco dancer and for all who just love
the art of flamenco. Sevillanas are danced in partners by children, teenagers
and adults at nightclubs, parties, ferias, weddings, and many other social
events in Spain,
but most famously at the annual Feria de Abril in Sevilla.
