Hi KTM!
I'm wondering if here are other foreigners (burharis or jwains) married to Nepalis in the area who might be interested in meeting up every once an a while for coffee or drinks to talk about all of the joys and frustrations of cross-cultural relationships/marriage/partnerships/families.

As an American there has been lots to learn about Nepali families, culture, and what it means to be a daughter-in-law (buhari), and I'd love to talk with others in the same position.  Email me at mir.wood at gmail.com if you're interested, and maybe we can find a time that works for a larger group.

Best,
Miriam

The first, very informal, bedeshi buhari group will meet this Saturday, February 21st at 1905 Restaurant around 12:30pm.   Any foreigner (male or female) who is married to/partnered with/dating/ in a relationship with a Nepali is welcome to join!

Let me know if you're planning to join so we can keep an eye out for you.

Best, Miriam

Hey Miriam,

Although I am not married, I want to learn more about the cross- cultural relationship since this has interests me in my course studies.. Is it possible I join your group and learn someday, if not that's alright.

Cheers,
Sushma :D
