An interview with Callie Martin, Waste Reduction Outreach Specialist
with Skagit County Public Works; and Katie Hampton, Sustainability
Coordinator for the Climate Action and Sustainability Taskforce.
Callie and Katie talk about nuts and bolts pragmatic attempts, by the
County, to reduce waste and save energy in county operations; and to
encourage the public to do likewise.

7PM, Wednesday, September 29 “Documentary Hour”
For generations, official Australian policies mandated that the
children of the aborigines be removed from their families in order to
integrate them into white society and culture. Learn about the
repercussions that continue today, from these decisions.

It’s festival time in the Skagit Valley, learn about the Festival of
Family Farms, taking place this weekend in the Skagit Valley!

This week, the following topics listen to “Noticias Skagit” which
airs in Spanish on Saturday at 8AM and Sunday at
7AM.

Latino Special Graham Russell from Rights Action speaks about how the
impact from natural disasters like the earthquake in Haiti, tornado in
Guatemala…are intensified with economic injustice. He also speaks
about what citizens in rich western countries can do to improve the
situation in places like Haiti, Guatemala.

4PM Sunday, October 3
Take a break from the farm festival, and dance to the music of “The
Tune Stranglers” part 3 in a special locally produced series of music
and comedy.

4:30PM, Sunday, October 3 “Kitchen Cuisine”
What’s for dinner? Maybe after listening to this new, locally
produced program, it will be Skagit Tournedos…(the focus of this weeks
program)

5PM, Tuesday, October 5 “Skagit Talks”
Learn the latest about child safety seats, with Bill Craig of the 911
Center.
