KSVR/KSVU Word Waves Edition 7 September 10

Hello and Thank You for your interest in community radio here in the
Skagit Valley!

KSVU in the making!
Just in case you have not heard the news, KSVR and the board of
trustees for Skagit Valley College are in the process of designing
KSVU, which will be the "sister station" of KSVR. Located in downtown
Concrete on Main Street, there will be many opportunities for local
residents to design and produce community radio in Eastern Skagit
County.

What's Happened in the last week?
A new logo and look for KSVU, check out a photo of the latest design
posted (soon) at ksvr.org

Yesterday, September 9th, 9 people gathered together at the Concrete
Senior Center to discuss KSVU. Rip Robbins, Manager of Radio Services
for Skagit Valley College, stressed the need to have volunteer support
for KSVU, as the station will be relying on volunteers to both create
and produce local programs. If you reside in Eastern Skagit County,
NOW is the time to join the "KSVU Planning Team" -find out about
upcoming meetings by visiting the Concrete Chamber Website or in
upcoming editions of KSVR/KSVU Word Waves!

What's Happening?

September 10, Staff from KSVR will be attending the Open House
Celebrating the Arts! at McIntyre Hall, from 5-7PM to share
information about KSVU and KSVU.

September 12- Fall Fundraising Dance for KSVR, Dave DuVall Pavilion,
Skagit Valley College 8PM-1AM. Dance the night away to the music of
Banda Cache, Zona Calida, Tropicalisimo Capala and Sonido. Tickets
are available at the door, the cost is $20 per person. All proceeds
go to fund the KSVR Scholarship Program and support Spanish Radio on
KSVR.
