5PM and 11PM, Wednesday, "Speak Up, Speak Out" March 24th (repeat on
Sunday at 8PM) Hot off the press, and in your mailbox...Census 2010
forms. Learn why this lingo is so important as Jim talks with Denie
Luna, Media Specialist for the 2010 Census, to find out the specifics
about goals to reach undercounted communities, a bit of census history
and how one can track census returns by zip code. Also, Jim talks
with Jeanne Youngquist, Skagit County Auditor, about the possibility
of Skagit County getting a Spanish ballot, as required by law, if this
language group reaches 5% of the total population. Also, an interview
with Karen Parnell, Deputy Director of Skagit Community Action Agency,
to talk more specifically about the local impact of program funds
based on the census.
8-10PM, Wednesday "The Blue Boulevard" DJ Ayla with Ainchant Current
will be joining the Blue Boulevard crew to create a cross cultural
link between the reggae on Ainchant Current and the blues program
hosted by Jax and the Cadillac. They will be discussing the infamous
New Orleans musician Dr. John and playing songs from his "The
NighTripper" album.
4:55PM, Thursday," Bookviews" Add this book to your reading stack,
after you hear a short review by Skagit County Librarians tell of "The
Briar King" by Greg Keyes.
5PM and 11PM, Thursday, "Skagit Talks" (repeat on Sunday at 8:30PM)
News Reporter Joanna Bruno offers up the latest when it comes to
cigarette traffic, pesticides in salmon streams, banking in
Washington, early childhood education, Washington prisons, and wolf
plans. For the second half of this program, Rip Robbins talks with
students of the Social Problems Course about various aspects of
changing family life.
5PM, Friday "Skagit Talks: The Home Addition" Learn about the Main
Street Project, as we talk with Downtown merchants.
