KSVR has two special events coming up -if you're a volunteer DJ or
program host, we hope to see you at
our upcoming Volunteer Appreciation Dinner on Friday, January
15th...and if you're interested in serving in that capacity, or just
want to learn more about KSVR, be sure to attend our Open House taking
place on Tuesday, January 19th, from 4-6PM!

Tune in for the "Documentary Hour" and learn about the significance of
the Gaza Freedom March. Members of the Northern Africa Collective
interview UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights, Richard Falk: Gaza
journalist Rami Almeghari and March organizers Haidar Eid and Ameer
Makhoul.
Thursday, January 14th at 4PM (while sipping your $1 lattes from the
SVC Student Center) Learn from Chris Hedges, a long-time reporter for
the New York and Christian Science Monitor about the corporate media
message. Mr Hedges claims that the run of the mill sound bit
journalism is shallow and lacks details and content. The result? An
ignorant population unable to comprehend important pubic issues.
LEARN
...about Citizenship Day, February 6th from 9AM-3PM, hosted by KSVR
Radio, at Lewis Hall, on the campus of Skagit Valley College. Held
twice a year, for people seeking citizenship, KSVR will be
broadcasting live from the site. Volunteers are needed to help with
translation.
...about KSVR at our Winter Open House! Tuesday, January 19th from
4-6PM. We'll have popcorn popping away for your eating enjoyment, as
you tour the station, meet staff and volunteers, and learn about
volunteer opportunities to help produce local, community radio!
Students, a great opportunity exists to learn about radio, especially
if you are a member of the KSVR Student Radio Club! Contact
