Welcome to this weeks edition of “KSVR Word Waves” a short and simple
guide to what’s happened and what’s happening on KSVR Radio, 91.7FM

Wednesday, September 8th 5PM “Speak Up, Speak Out”
Elizabeth Elliott, Single Family Housing Specialist of the USDA Rural
Development Program will be talking about the ways in which persons
can obtain very low interest loans to purchase homes, and other
aspects of the Rural Development Program.
Thursday, September 9th 5PM “Skagit Talks”
In addition to the news report by Joanna Bruno, learn about “Dewey,
The Small Town Library Cat Who Touched the World” by Vicky Myron, and
reviewed by Joy Neil, of the La Conner Library.
Friday, September 10th 5PM “Skagit Talks: The Home Edition”
In addition to the news report by Stuarto Glasser, travel below the
surface to learn about lugworms during this weeks “Creature Feature”
and as part of the KSVR “Cooking Minute” whet your appetite for Ice
Cream Shortcake, -and devote some time to the monthly health interview
with Ben Winkus.
In Spanish! “Esta Contiga” September 10, 11 and 12 (for program
times, visit ksvr.org) U.S. Forest Service Job Opportunities with
special guest Rolando Loya, U.S.D.A. Forest Service, Region 6
Employment Specialist.

Bought your raffle tickets yet? Don’t wait until the last minute –
taco trucks, primarily located in Mount Vernon and Burlington have
raffle tickets to sell! Tickets are only only $1 each, for a chance to
win a stunning collection of new and gently used CD’s donated by KSVR
volunteer, Tony Sosa.
The facebook community of KSVR is growing! We’re developing
“specialty pages” focused on some of the local programs found only on
KSVR Radio –such as “Kitchen Cuisine” and “Skagit Talks” –watch the
website for links to join up on these pages!
