Welcome to the first e-news edition of "KSVR Word Waves" -a simple and
short guide to what's happened and what's happening on KSVR 91.7FM

What's on your summer reading list? KSVR can help! Listen to
Bookviews, a 3 minute book review co-produced by KSVR and Skagit
County Public Libraries. Tune in every week on Thursdays at 4:57PM.
KSVR in the SKAGIT VALLEY
Share your opinions! KSVR will be conducting listener surveys over
the summer months to help plan programming and learn more about
listener demographics. Learn where KSVR will be in your community,
in upcoming editions of KSVR Word Waves.
New KSVR brochures have arrived! Not only do they include general
information about KSVR but a form is attached for YOU to fill out to
support KSVR as a member! Join today and support YOUR community radio
station!
The spring dance organized by KSVR at Skagit Valley College netted
over $5000! Held on June 6th, over 250 attendees danced the night
away.
MARK YOUR CALENDARS
July 11th, 8PM-1AM Summertime Dance! Dance to local and regional
music provided by Banda Explosion Tarazca, Zorro Notono, Groupo
Inseparable and Sonido Aquario. Tickets are $20 at the door, youth 11
and younger free. This is a drug and alcohol free event, all proceeds
benefit KSVR.
July 8-11 Summer Pledge Drive. Now is the time to make a direct
action to support Skagit Valley's local radio station -by becoming a
member. Make a donation over the airways, and support local news and
information that has been provided in both English and Spanish since
1973.
Did you know KSVR has been on the air for the past 35 years? Come
celebrate this milestone at an Open House being held at the studio on
Saturday, July 29th, from 10AM-Noon and 4-6PM. Meet staff and
volunteers with KSVR, go on a tour of the station, listen to live
music and enjoy light refreshments.
KSVR 91.7FM would like to thank the following station underwriters and
donors:
Sea Mar, Puget Sound Energy, Lorenzo's, Planned Parenthood, Silver
Reef Casino, Washington State University, Rene Nunez, Alfonso
