Welcome to the Monday edition of KSVR Word Waves, a bi-weekly guide to
what's happened and what's happening on KSVR 91.7FM...

HIGHLIGHT of the WEEK
KSVR staff have just confirmed participation in the Annual Tulip
Festival Street Fair, to be held in downtown Mount Vernon April
15-17. What will we be doing? It's a great opportunity for you to
meet program hosts, staff, volunteers and learn how you can be
involved in supporting your local community radio station! KSVR will
have a display and live broadcast equipment located in front of the
Skagit Democratic Office on 1st Street in downtown Mount Vernon for
the festival weekend.

5PM Monday, April 4th "Skagit Talks"
Join us as we delve into the Skagit Talks archives for an interview
with Bob Abrams, an artist from La Conner, who spent a career as a
background artist.

11AM Tuesday, April 5th "Health with Sofia Lucatero" (produced in
Spanish)
Sofia Lucatero, of SeaMar Health, returns to hosting this popular
program, thanks to Don Stinnett for arranging repeat programs during
her absence.

Noon-1PM NEW! Tuesday, April 5th "Mr B's Radio Hour" -heard only on
90.1FM, KSVU
The best in old-time American Radio! Locally produced for KSVU
listeners.

5PM Wednesday, April 6 "Speak Up! Speak Out"
)jim talks with several local people about the impact of cuts in the
state budget have on social programs – especially those that affect
people of color. (this program repeats at 11PM, Wednesday and 8PM,
Sunday)

7PM Wednesday, April 6th "Documentary Hour"
Dr. Helen Caldicott talks with Dr Gordon Edwards, one of Canada's best
known independent experts on nuclear technology, uranium, and weapons
proliferation. Dr Edwards is also the co-founder of the Canadian
Coalition for Nuclear Responsibility (CCNR) . He was instrumental in
bringing about a halt to uranium exploration in Newfoundland and
Labrador, Nova Scotia, and British Columbia. Dr Gordon Edwards was
awarded the 2006 Nuclear-Free Future Award in the Education Category.
