I'm Erin Harris from Sanders Intermediate. I hope to use this week to

my first year of teaching 5th grade and I'll take all the help I can
get!

My name is Tracy and I am starting my 8th year of teaching, my second
year at Big Shanty Intermediate School, and my 4th year teaching 5th
grade. I have both my bachelor's and master's from KSU and I live in
Hiram with a cat and a new puppy. We are currently trying to convince
the cat that the dog just wants to play and that she is, in fact, a
dog and not some strange creature from the Black Lagoon. ;-)

I teach at Rocky Mount ... I live in Canton but I am originally from
Peachtree City. I am married to Mike and we have 2 little boys - Jack
2 1/2 and Luke 4 months. I am hoping to learn some really cool tech
stuff over the next couple of days that I can use in my classroom. We
are lucky enough to have SMART boards so using technology in my
classroom is more do-able than ever!

Good afternoon! I currently teach science on a daily rotation at
Chalker....I've enjoyed what we have worked on so far and have had a
blast with the 'girls' in my group...they keep a smile on my face....I
would really like to learn how to bring more/applicable technology
into the classroom...primarily how to use the smartboard for almost
everything!

my instructional practices so I hope to learn how I can do that from

Hello!
I'm Bre and I'm the Academic Coach at Riverside Intermediate School.
An Academic Coach is the math, science, literacy, social studies, and
staff development coach all rolled-up into one!! I would like to be
able to bring back strategies and lessons to the 4th and 5th grade
teachers at my school. I feel as though science has fallen to the
bottom of the priority list (CRCT, literacy, math...science) and I
want to provide practical ways for teachers to integrate the
curriculum while engaging students. GO TEAM!!

I am Jim Caswell. I teach at Due West Elementary. This is my second
year there, but my tenth year with CCSD. I spent the first 8 years at
Nicholson Elementary. Teaching is my second career, the first being
broadcasting (television, video, advertising). I am really not sure
what to expect to "get out" of these sessions. My abilities to make
science interesting and incorporate technology are limited so I hope
to become more knowledgeable(sp?) in both areas. I am looking forward
to whatever learning opportunities I receive throughtout the next
couple of years. I do love working on computers, but find that I talk
myself out of incorporating technology due to "time constraints." Good
excuse, eh? I want and need to work past that.

Academic Coach sounds like a really cool position. Is that common
throughout the county? How long have you been doing it? It almost
sounds like what the old ILT position used to be.

Hi John,
I think you will enjoy teaching 5th grade. Two years ago, I moved from

Fortunately, I had a great team that was willing to share.
Good Luck,
