NEWS RELEASE

KSP Investigating Two Vehicle Collision on I-69

Earlington, KY (Hopkins County) – On November 30, 2019 at approximately 6:05 PM, Kentucky State Police Post 2 Madisonville responded to a call of a two vehicle collision on I-69 around the 110 mile marker.

Preliminary investigation revealed Zackary Green, 29, of Central City, KY, was operating a 2005 Ford Taurus with Hannah Green, 28, of Central City, KY and a two year old female juvenile as passengers. Their vehicle had mechanical issues, and Green was attempting to exit the roadway when his vehicle was struck from behind by an International semi-tractor and trailer, operated by Martin Chappell, 56, of Lebanon, MO.

Zackary Green was transported to Midtown Deaconess Hospital and the two year old juvenile was transported to Norton’s Children’s Hospital for treatment. Martin Chappell was transported to Baptist Health Madisonville where he was treated and released. Hannah Green was not treated for injuries. The investigation is ongoing.
