NEWS RELEASE

KSP Post 2 October 2019 Activity Report

 

MADISONVILLE, KY (November 1, 2019) KSP Post 2 Madisonville, reports the following activity for the month of October 2019:

  • Arrested 24 Impaired Drivers
  • Issued a Total of 1169 Citations
  • Issued 350 Speeding Citations
  • Issued 167 Seatbelt Citations
  • Issued 20 Child Restraint Citations
  • Issued 347 Courtesy Notices
  • Assisted 78 Stranded Motorists
  • Responded to 480 Calls for Service
  • Opened 54 Criminal Cases
  • Made 205 Criminal Arrests

 

**There was one fatal crash reported in the Post 2 District in October 2019

Through October 31, 2019, there have been thirty (30) people killed in the Post 2 District: eleven (11) victims were not wearing a seatbelt, fifteen (15) victims were wearing a seatbelt, two (2) victim’s seatbelt were unknown, zero (0) victims were not wearing a helmet (motorcycle), one (1) victim was wearing a helmet (motorcycle), zero (0) victim helmet was unknown (motorcycle), zero (0) were bicyclists and one (1) victim was a pedestrian.

Post 2 serves the following counties: Caldwell, Christian, Crittenden, Hopkins, Muhlenberg, Todd, and Webster.

**These statistics are still preliminary as KSP waits for all local law enforcement agencies throughout the state to report any crashes and fatalities that may have occurred in their areas.
