KSP Post 2 December 2019 Activity Report
MADISONVILLE, KY (January 9, 2020) – KSP Post 2 Madisonville, reports the following activity for the month of December 2019:
**There were zero fatal crashes reported in the Post 2 District in December 2019
Through December 2019, there have been thirty-two (32) persons killed in the Post 2 District: twelve (12) victims were not wearing a seatbelt, fifteen (15) victims were wearing a seatbelt, three (3) victim’s seatbelt were unknown, zero (0) victims were not wearing a helmet (motorcycle), one (1) victim was wearing a helmet (motorcycle), zero (0) victim helmet was unknown (motorcycle), zero (0) were bicyclists and one (1) victim was a pedestrian.
In 2019 there was a 26% decrease in total fatal collisions from 2018 for the Post 2 District. There were fewer total fatal collisions in the Post 2 District in 2019 than the previous five years. The totals for fatal collisions in the Post 2 District since 2014 are:
2014- 30 total fatal collisions
2015- 36 total fatal collisions
2016- 38 total fatal collisions
2017- 38 total fatal collisions
2018- 38 total fatal collisions
2019- 28 total fatal collisions
Post 2 serves the following counties: Caldwell, Christian, Crittenden, Hopkins, Muhlenberg, Todd, and Webster.
**These statistics are still preliminary as KSP waits for all local law enforcement agencies throughout the state to report any crashes and fatalities that may have occurred in their areas.
