Beech Creek Man Arrested after Pursuit
Bremen, KY (Muhlenberg County) – On January 13, 2020 at approximately 5:25 PM, Trooper Justin Cornett, of Kentucky State Police Post 2 in Madisonville observed a 2004 white Chevrolet Tahoe operating at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was southbound on KY 81, just south of the Bremen community.
Trooper Cornett initiated his emergency equipment to make a traffic stop on the vehicle, when the it began to flee. The Tahoe turned onto Gishton Road, before finally coming to a stop on KY 2584. Trooper Cornett then identified the operator as Steven Matthew Minor, age 37, of Beech Creek, KY. Through further investigation, Trooper Cornett was able to determine Minor was under the influence.
Steven Matthew Minor was arrested and lodged in the Muhlenberg County Detention Center where he was charged with the following:
1.) Speeding 26 MPH or > Speed Limit
2.) Reckless Driving
3.) Fleeing or Evading Police, 1st Degree (Motor Vehicle)
4.) DUI 1st
5.) Wanton Endangerment- 1st Degree-Police Officer
6.) Resisting Arrest
7.) Failure of Owner to Maintain Required Ins/Sec, 1st
8.) Improper Equipment
9.) Failure to or Improper Signal
