Staff accountant needed in NW Harris Co.

Posted by: "William West" bwestcpa@sbcglobal. net

Tue Apr 27, 2010 8:32 am (PDT)

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

Please accept this job listing, Thank you very much, Bill West

I am looking for a staff accountant. A person with an accounting degree
would be useful but an individual (non degreed) with strong bookkeeping or
detailed general ledger knowledge could handle this job. I envision this
position doing a lot of document review type work which would entail
auditing type work. The position will be under the direct supervision of one
of my associates, a CPA with 25 years of experience in private industry and
public accounting.

Besides being a CPA , I am also a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy trustee and tasks in
both of these areas are handled by my staff.

There will be tax preparation work involved in the areas of income and
payroll, both federal and state. Having knowledge in this area would be a
plus for an applicant . Knowing that few people are knowledgeable of
bankruptcy and insolvency taxation and accounting ,we understand that there
will be a great deal of training. The applicant should be familiar with
Microsoft Excel and Word, plus Adobe Acrobat 7.0 or higher.

My office is currently comprised of five people with the average age being
about 50 yrs - if that matters to anyone. We are located in the Cypress,
Klein, 1960 area- not too far from the Hewlett Packard complex on SH 249. We
offer somewhat flexible hours with little or no overtime. I do not offer
health insurance but have a 401(k) plan with a 4% fixed match.

I will consider a degreed or non degreed accountant, a current graduate or
someone with years of experience. I believe that I have an office of
conscientious employees and am looking for the same in the new hire.
Compensation is dependent on experience.

If you know of anyone that may be interested in this position please share
this email with them. An interested party should only contact me via email
and include a resume with their response.

Telephone calls will not be accepted.
