Payroll Supervisor
Job Summary
Supervise the day-to-day activities for payroll administrators including
the processing of weekly and bi-weekly payrolls using Oracle. Lead the
analysis and balancing of payroll output for accuracy and completeness.
Identify and implement process improvements where appropriate. Assist in
year-end processing, administration and new year set-ups. Provide
payroll related information to site administrators on an as need basis.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Supervises operational activities for payroll administrators
* Subject Matter Expert (SME) for payroll related issues
* Responsible for functional system error resolution during
processing
* Performs the import of time into the Oracle system and verifies
all totals to timesheets
* Coordinates all Oracle payroll
processes
* Test and system updates in Oracle
* Processes and distribute all live checks and direct deposits
* Serves as point of contact for bank returns, and NACHA file
initiation
* Processes balance adjustments as needed for all employees
* Analyzes payroll data, reports and forms for accuracy
* Maintains payroll database integrity and reconciliation of
internal / external data
* Assist with the review and apply new business functionality
including analysis, testing, validation and implementation
* Support SOX activities
* Backup to the Payroll Manager
* Assists in special project work as requested
Qualifications:
* Minimum 5 years payroll experience in a multi-company,
multi-state environment
* Knowledge of Federal, State and Local wage & hour laws
* Strong background of an in house automated payroll system,
preferably Oracle, and reporting tools including MS
Office and
Reporting Queries (Discoverer)
* Ability to organize and assign work among staff according to
their individual capabilities and to establish priorities in workload
* Knowledge of stock, pre-tax, cafeteria and deferred comp plans
* Excellent communication, verbal, written and presentation
skills
* Possess excellent customer service and team support skills
* Knowledge of automated time & attendance systems, a plus
* Must have knowledge and use of Oracle modules including
Payroll and Time and Labor
* CPP certification
* Project Management experience
Supervisory Responsibilities:
* Regularly responsible for assigning activities to other
employees who perform work that is similar or closely related to my job.
Direct and Indirect Reports:
This position directly supervises 2 employees and indirectly supervises
1
employee.

Pay:
$58,000 - $69,000 + annual bonus if applicable
