Symposium Synopsis: Recent trends in Information Technology have dramatically changed the nature of computing. Cloud computing has made unlimited compute/storage resources available to any individual or enterprise. Exponential growth of mobile devices, such as smart phones and tablets, has made mobiles the dominant computing platform, replacing desktops. Social networks are profoundly changing the way we interact at personal level, and companies do business. Smart devices, so called Internet of Things, are becoming more prevalent in areas such as healthcare, energy & utility, public safety, etc. All of these trends contribute to the Big Data problem, which brings new challenge to data mining and analytics. In addition, recent years have seen significant advances in the area of cyber security, AI, high performance computing, machine learning, networking, etc. This symposium will bring together leading academics, industry researchers, practitioners, and entrepreneurs in Computing and IT and provide as a forum to discuss recent achievements in this exciting and fast advancing area.

Thanks.

On behalf of UKC 2013 CSI Symposium Chair and Co-chairs,
Samjoo Doh, Ph.D.
Councilor, Technical Group L (Computer Science, Systems Engineering), KSEA
