To all of our Krystal Kennels friends:

 

We are forwarding this msg to you, which we rec'd from the White Oak Society, to confirm that the dog sled race in Deer River has been cancelled for this year.  Perhaps you already knew about this?  You can find more information here:  http://www.whiteoak.org/white-oak-sled-dog-race/   Northern Minnesota winter weather has just not been cooperative for the past two years!  But we will forge ahead with vigorous planning for the 2014 race.  Pls contact us if you would like to be involved in any way, either as a volunteer, a musher, a sponsor, or in any other capacity.

This message is being sent to all registered mushers, volunteers, sponsors and other parties interested in the White Oak Dog Sled Race that was scheduled to be held on Saturday, January 19, 2013.

We are sorry to inform you that the race has been cancelled due to hazardous trail conditions.  This winter's lack of snow, and the recent freezing rain, have made the trails icy and unsafe for the dogs and mushers.

Thank you to all volunteers who have helped so far or who had made plans to assist during the race.  Also a BIG THANK YOU to all sponsors who you will find listed on the race web site at:

As noted on the musher registration form, all mushers will receive a full refund of their registration fees.  Please let us know via email by January 19 if you would like a refund, or if you would like your registration fee to be carried over to next year.

We could not hold this event without all of you!  We look forward to your continued support for the 2014 race, and hope for favorable weather conditions at that time!
