Hi All,

Scientific Linux 6.4, 64 bit (RHEL Clone)
Krusader 2.4.0 beta 3

Whenever I rename a file, I have to hit the "End" key before hitting "enter".  Otherwise, it does not take.  Even when I am at the end of the line.  It is driving me crazy.  I have to rename everything twice.

Any workarounds?

Many thanks,
-T

Hi,

Hmmm... I do not have such problem in Mageia 4 (RH derivative, Krusader from git/master, 64-bits).

Am I right that you make the rename procedure similar to this: press F9, make changes, press Enter?

Best regards,
Yuri

I also have no troubles with renaming in Krusader, using Slackware 41.1

Hi Yuri,

Man is Krusader not much for the eyes, but
does it ever get the job done. It is the only
file manager I have used for years.

Are you running the same version as I am?

To rename, I right click, left click on "rename"
make my changes, press "enter". Then I notice that
the name went back to the original. (I mumble a
bit too.)

So, I right click, left click on "rename", right
arrow to the end of the line, press "enter". Then I
notice again that the changes reverted. (I mumble
a semi insulting bad word.)

So, this time a remember, and I right click, left
click on "rename", press "End" key to go to the end
of the line, even though I am usually already there,
and press "enter". This time it takes. Then I resolve
report the bug. (I finally did.)

Not sure. Just a self-compiled Krusader from KDE git/master (for
documentation purposes).

Works as expected here (KDE 4.11.4, Qt 4.8.5)

And this works as expected too here.

It will good to have a formal bug report (against Krusader in KDE bugzilla
or against RH/Fedora package in RH bugzilla).

Thanks in advance for your work on fixing this.

Best regards,
Yuri

Unable to reproduce under krusader-2.4.0-0.10.beta3.fc20.x86_64.rpm and
Fedora-Live-Xfce-x86_64-20-1.iso (Xfce Fedora Core 20 live cd)

I wonder if this has anything to do with Xfce 4.8? FC20 is on
to Xfce 4.10

Krusader 2.4.0-beta3 on XFCE 4.10 on Debian works fine for me. It also
worked fine on XFCE 4.8.

Does your problem happen on renaming EVERY file?
How do your filenames look like in "ls -l" output? Are there any
non-ascii characters in filenames? Any new line character?

Any and every file and is 100% reproducible.

I wonder if it may be Scientific Linux then?
