Hello:

This applies to krusader Version 2.4.0-beta3 "Single Step". I frequently copy files of different users using krusader as root. Until now I used krusader 1.x in KDE3 and copying files as root never caused a problem.

Recently I have started to use krusader 2.x in KDE4. When I copy a user's files, krusader set the owner of the files to root instead of preserving the ownership. I have to manually set back the ownership, but if the file ownerships are different, it might be very tedious. This makes krusader unusable for backing up users' files.
Why doesn't krusader 2.x preserve file ownership? Is it possible to change this somewhere in config options?

Thanks,

Istvan

As a last resort you can create a UserAction with a script attached
that moves things while preserving the ownership.
