A website I came across: it brings together microlenders and borrowers in developing countries such as ours. Local field agents rate the loan requests, but there is no guarantee that money will be repaid if the projects fail. Loans start for as low as $25 or Rs. 1000.

Looks like an interesting platform, though will have to spend more time with it, to understand its effectiveness.
