Greetings Everyone!

  We have a special celebration this evening, as it is the birthday of our dear friend and lord of the dance himself,  Mahajon.  There will be a kirtan program at 8pm at the Free the Planet House (313 Oakland Ave) so please stop by after Vegetarianism 101 to partake in the festivities, all are welcome! 

In other news, we have started posting video clips and a few photos from the SHY kirtan on our website.  The next date for this special event is Saturday, February 21 so mark your calendars now.  Thanks again to Leta from Schoolhouse Yoga for making this possible!  You can check out the Schoolhouse website to find out more about their classes and programs.  

Here is the rundown for the week:

Vegetarianism 101 - Mini Course Series
Time: Tuesdays, 6-7pm
Location: Pitt Union Basement
Cost: Free for Students and Faculty, $108 for all others
Free Fresh Cooked Vegan Meal served after class

The Vedas: Bhagavad Gita, Srimad Bhagavatam, and More - Mini Course Series - Learn what things like Karma, Yoga, Dharma, Guru, Eternity, and Time really are. As given by the oldest books in the world.
Time: Wednesdays, 7:30-9pm
Location: Krishna Cooperative Culture and Wellness Center (4610 Winthrop St, Rear Entrance)
Cost: Free for Students and Faculty, $108 for all others
Fresh Cooked Vegan Meal served after class

Kirtan Yoga and Mantra Meditation 101 - Weekly Workshop
Time: Thursdays 6-7pm
Location: U Pitt Union Basement, Stress Free Zone Room.

Free Kirtan Session @ Maggies!- Maggie has kindly agreed to host this weekly session meant for the upliftment and unification of one and all. Come partake of the vegan eats and transcendent beats.
Time: 7-8pm Fridays
Location: Maggie's Vegan Restaurant, 300 South Craig St., Oakland

Morning Program- Experience a morning of 'sadhana' (inner cultivation) as practiced by monks, yogis, and sages of ancient India. Begins with bhajans, songs sung in bengali and sanskrit, followed by reading and discussion from the Srimad Bhagavatam, a 5000 year old book of wisdom considered to be one of the most prominent Vedic texts.
Open to all.
Time: Every morning, 7:30am-9am

Simple Lunch - Monday - Saturday, 11:30am - 2pm. Fresh food. $3 donation. Get it at the Krishna Cooperative.
