This mail is to clarify some of your doubts regarding the changes in mess menu. There have been many queries with regard to the present menu. Please refer to the points given below:

1. The menu served right now in the messes is till 31 August 2013. We will be implementing a new mess from 1 September 2013. Based on the suggestions and feedback given by the students, the mess secretaries and other MMC members would sit together and would decide on the menus.
2. The following changes have been instituted as per the tender document:
1. The amount of curd has been increased to 100 ML (from 80 ML) and has been made limited to one per person.
2. Fruits would not be supplied with the meal for any time and has been made as an extra item.
3. Along with Idly for breakfast, vadai will not be provided from now and this has been moved to the extras' list.
3. The earlier changes were made taking into consideration the suggestions made by the caterer and to have the daily rates reduced to the maximum extent (inclusion of fruits would have hiked the daily rate by Rs.5/-). The rates remain at the same level due to several other considerations that went into the discussions during the price negotiations.
4. The breakfast items have been made common for the same period and the mess menu will be altered in each month after factoring in the performance of the caterer.

The parts of the tender document that deal with the menu which has been implemented now is attached herewith. Any suggestions/feedback, please contact your mess secretary so that your voice is also heard during the decision making.
