@ramses2 use one of the commercially available lens cleaner discs and run it through the process a few times. If that does not work you will have to take your Blu-Ray player apart to try to clean the lens manually. I usually wipe off the lenses with 95% (or greater) isopropyl alcohol or a cotton swab if the drive can expose the lense. This will of course only work if it is caused by a dirty lens, not a failed reader etc.
I opened the main case and I see a circuit board and a case that the disc goes into. That case is connected to the circuit board by 3 wire harnesses. Now, examining the "disc case" , which I have been able to lift out, I do not see anything that remotely looks like a lens. Am I supposed to find 2 glass lenses ?
