kpt roadmap

Hi,

First of all we want to thank everyone who has used kpt and contributed to kpt either through PRs or by filing issues. The feedback has been invaluable to us.

Based on the input from users and our experience after working on kpt for over a year, we have many ideas about how to improve kpt. Some of these will require pretty substantial changes to kpt, so we don’t want to add it to kpt before we have had some time to test it out in practice and to iterate on it. Therefore we will be creating a separate branch for this work. This branch will be less stable than the master branch and we do not plan to make any releases from this branch until we are confident in these changes. Of course, anyone is free to follow the work and try it out by building from source.

When and if we make these changes part of the main kpt release, we will make sure any migrations are well documented, and to the extent possible, automated.
