This year LFNW is going to make presentation decisions based on how many
want to go to them. So sign up for an account and vote :)
The still have some bugs to work out, but the new site is pretty nice.

The LinuxFest Northwest organizing committee is pleased to announce the
new LinuxFest Northwest website to kick off the countdown for the 2010
festival! Take a look around the site, as it is drastically different
from years past. Attendee participation is a key theme for this years fest.
The fest will be taking place *April 24th, 25th 2010 in Bellingham,
WA. The site this year has been redesigned in Drupal, allowing us to do
some pretty cool things, including:*
Community Input for sessions:
All sessions will be submitted via the website, and available for public
viewing. Session authors can update their sessions at will, and people
can select if a particular session is something they're interested in
attending. If there are more sessions than spots to fill, the staff will
choose sessions partially based on what people are thinking of attending.
Online billpay for Sponsorship and Exhibit booths:
You can now create a sponsorship and exhibit booth and pay online
automatically! For those who don't use a CC/paypal, you can submit a PO
number, and we will process your order similar to years past. As always,
t*he fest for attendees is free. *Sponsors and Exhibitors help keep this
event free for attendees every year.
Online IRC, forums, ride share, etc:
We're really hitting hard the ability for attendees to get to know each
other and plan ahead before the event. We hope the site will be a
gathering place before the event so we can build a larger community than
just the two days we're together. Get online soon and chat with your
fellow colleagues!
Twitter/social networking:
continuing from years past, we have setup our LFNW twitter feed, @lfnw.
People are suggested to use #lfnw hash tags if they're talking about us.
Post-event networking:
Our plan this year is to have video, images, audio, and other media
associated with presentations easily available on the site after the
fest concludes. The site is setup so that each year will be archived and
easily available for all to see.
We hope you'll make time for the event. Tell your friends and signup
online at http://www.linuxfestnorthwest.org/
See you there!
