Dear Friends of Permaculture,
Kaw Permaculture in conjunction with the
Sustainability
Action Network has been offering Design Certification Courses that
span 15 weeks and meet weekly since 2009. We have received many
request for a more time manageable workshop on the essentials of
Permculture.
Kaw Permaculture is proud to announce a two-day workshop
entitled, "
Introduction to Permaculture
Ethics, Principles and Design". This short course will take
place on
March 24 and 25 at the Dreher Family 4H Building, 2110
Harper St. in Lawrence, KS.
The workshop will cover the essentials in the creation of urban-scale
and broad acre permaculture landscapes. It will also include design
exercises and group discussion of permaculture applications, resources
and community projects. Learn how to design and maintain productive
ecosystems through articulation of your goals, group activities and
examples of permaculture applications in various contexts.
“Permaculture is the conscious design and maintenance of
cultivated
ecosystems which have the diversity, stability & resilience of
natural
ecosystems. It is the harmonious integration of landscape, people &
appropriate technologies, providing good, shelter, energy & other
needs in
a sustainable way. Permaculture is a philosophy and an approach to land
use
which works with natural rhythms & patterns, weaving together the
elements
of microclimate, annual & perennial plants, animals, water &
soil
management, & human needs into intricately connected &
productive
communities” Bill Mollison, co-founder of
Permaculture
The fee for the workshop will be $125 if you enroll
before February 15 and $160 thereafter. Registration information is
attached. For more information visit,
