I have been learning and engaging in the work of KC Healthy Kids this year. Their work is important to our local foodshed and our communities. Please read the information and follow the links to vote.

Andrea Clark requests that people voting live or work in the project area, which is a 100 mile radius around Kansas City. You can share this webpage that has more info too: https://www.kchealthykids.org/food-system-planning.html

Should the links in the text below "engage online before June 11" not work.

Don't forget to vote

You still have time to vote for your priorities and share comments through an online platform. If you weren't able to attend a focus group or are new to the project, engage online before June 11. Feel free to share with others who might be interested. If you've already voted at an event or focus group, please allow others the opportunity to make their voice heard.

The next step is to compile the votes and comments from the focus groups and online platform. Over the summer, the advisory board will research actionable strategies to address the top priorities. Then we'll let you know when we have a draft ready for public comment this fall before we publish the regional action plan in October.

A foodshed, similar to the concept of a watershed, is the geographic area in which food flows from producers to consumers. For this project, the regional foodshed is identified as the area within a 100-mile radius of Kansas City.

Hi Bill. Thanks for sharing this. I attended a focus group for this project last night in Lawrence and I voted but with more of a health plan collaboration lens (aligned with my consulting hat), not using a KPI lens. I agree it would be great if others could engage with their efforts!
