DA woman was taken into custody for domestic violence-battery and assault on an officer Dec. 20 in the 4800 block of South 68th Street. The woman called 911 and said that her husband choked her, but police investigated and determined that the woman was the aggressor in the incident.

E. Security officers at Walmart, 10600 W. Layton Ave., reported that there was a break-in at the battery cage on Dec. 18. A male and female entered the cage and took 12 batteries and left in an older gray station wagon. Also at Walmart, on Dec. 21, the store detained a male for shoplifting. Police took him into custody.


F. A resident in the 4900 block of West Midland Drive reported Dec. 21 that his 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche was taken from his driveway with keys. OnStar reported the vehicle was located later that day in the area of West Lapham Boulevard and South Third Street.


J. Two males were taken into custody for retail theft Dec. 21 at Meijer, 5800 W. Layton Ave. Also at Meijer, in separate incidents Dec. 21, a 23-year-old woman was cited for retail theft and a 30-year-old male was cited for retail theft.


R. A resident in the 5700 block of Clover Lane reported to police Dec. 17 that the prior evening a neighbor pulled the fence surrounding their garden partly out of the ground; the resident captured the incident on surveillance video. Police cited the neighbor for harassment and trespassing. The resident called police the following day and reported that their neighbor was flipping them off on the cameras and pulled on their fence again. Police issued the neighbor another citation.


X. A woman was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia Dec. 17 at Speedway, 5490 S. 76th St., after an anonymous caller told police there was a gold Chevy Malibu parked on the east side of the building in which it looked like people were selling drugs.


Y. A man was cited for second-offense OWI Dec. 18 at the College Square Apartments, 6210 S. 51st St., after a caller told police it looked like a male was passed out behind the wheel of an older model truck.


Blue A. Police received a call at 10 p.m. Dec. 18 about a verbal altercation at Hales Corners Lutheran Church, 12300 W. Janesville Road, which ended with a firearm being displayed in the church parking lot. Those involved had left the area by the time police arrived.


G. An employee at Jetz Mart, 6101 S. 108th St., reported Dec. 25 that an older white male wearing a blue puffy jacket and black cap stole six to 12 Red Bull energy drinks from the store. The man was seen leaving in a green vehicle, possibly a Honda.
