Here is what I do for analysis of US demand.
1. Use Indeed.com
2. Do searches on jobs that pay > $100,000 per year
3. Get an RSS feed of the result of the searches
4. Create a tag cloud (of the skills)
5. Look at specific job trends - look at both absolute and relative trends.
You can directly jump to 5 if you have a specific industry. For example, take a look at this:
java,c++,c#, php, ruby, python Job Trends | Indeed.com
Unfortunately indeed does not support trends feature for Indian jobs. But I think we can build it if we need to for the top 20 skills (by the method I mentioned above in 5 steps)
Here are some variations I can think of:
1. Look at the top 10 IT giants and track only their job pages
2. Look at the monster/hotjobs postings
3. Look at Indeed Indian jobs (Indeed claims to aggregate thousands of job sites)
