Hello Jose

Thank you for that article. I found it really, really interesting, I mean
that with all my heart. I was more of a Bonifacio admirer you see. I
thought Rizal was a self-absorbed middle-class twit. But reading your
article, I have changed my mind. Please school me on Rizal.

Thanks

Hi Sir Jose Sison Luzadas,
I could find references relating to Jose Rizal using his pen name Laong Laan on various occasions - papers published on the La Solidaridad, i.e., Mi Piden Versos and A Las Flores De Heidelberg. However, I could not find references of him using Dimasalang as an author for his writings. I know that he chose Dimasalang for an alias (symbolic name) when he was initiated as a freemason of Acacia Lodge No. 9, Gran Oriente de Espana, whose members included Morayta, Pi y Margall and Moret, notable Spaniards at the time. Similarly, I have not seen a reference about his other pen name May Pagasa. I know that Andres Bonifacio's secret code name within the Katipunan was MAYPAGASA. Under Bonifacio's statue at the Bonifacio Monument in Caloocan City, a marker is in place which is a secret coded message to the officers and members of the Katipunan to rise and attack Spanish targets, thus, starting the Philippine Revolution, The date was August 30, 1896. It was signed by: MAYPAGASA.

I have enjoyed your blogs and have learned some more about our idol, Jose Rizal from your writings. Please keep it up!

Best regards,

Sir DocWinston,

Bonifacio's alias he used is AGAPITO BAGUMBAYAN. As as far as my memory can recall, the "old old Tagalog word AGAP meaning pinanpahirapan ITOng Bagumbayan were combined.

INSTEAD OF HEADING TO THE CREMATORIES, 1,200 JEWS

                              ARRIVED IN MANILA IT happened!

                   Believe Me

                          Or Not!

Whenever you are in Toronto, CANADA do not forget to drop by in EARL BALES PARK, located south of Finch Avenue along Bathurst Street. While you are there, get close to two bust monuments so far allowed by the city to be erected. Ask yourself what is there to learn about these two monuments and why they were erected for two men who are NOT even Canadians!

Earl Bales Park is not just a Mecca for people who picnic on Sundays or in the case of Filipino-Canadians, a gathering place to celebrate Philippine Independence Day. This prime real estate of several acres became “hallowed ground”, a fitting tribute to a Swedish diplomat who risked his life from the Gestapo and SS men issuing visa and passport to German Jews destined to the crematories in Nazi-occupied countries.

The Rizal bust at Earl Bales reminds the Filipino community and lovers of freedom who admired Dr. Rizal’s stand against Spanish brutalities, oppression and all forms of tyranny. The presence of these statues reflects Canada’s international image of tolerance and hospitality that earned the respect and admiration from immigrants coming to make it their second home allowing them to erect statues as link to their home country and their historic past.

                                                      HISTORIC FLASHBACK

In Manila, the Frieders, businessmen-brothers were then managing their St Helena Cigar Factory business before the WW II war broke out. They sought and got help and assistance from Paul V. McNutt then US High Commissioner and Commonwealth President Manuel L. Quezon, in securing and processing of visas and passports. They successfully coordinated their efforts in bringing in German and Austrian Jews in Europe for safe passage to the Philippines. The brothers' only regret is that had it not for the intervention of the war in the Pacific more than 10,000 lives could have been saved. Frank Ephraim who fled to the Philippines with his parents in 1931 wrote a book, "Escape to Manila from Nazi Tyranny to Japanese Terror" to chronicle the saga of their work and the plight of other refugees. Stanley Karnow, noted historian and author IN OUR IMAGE, wrote the introduction.

                                                   HISTORIC REUNION

It was one Sunday in February 2005, when the City of Cincinnati, Ohio hosted a unique reunion of the rescued and their rescuers, a gathering of relatives and survivors of Holocaust to personally thank and express gratitude to the Frieder brothers who played the role of saviors.

The brothers brought their relatives to the Holocaust Memorial Center to witness the occasion. Also in attendance are the family members of the late Paul McNutt who was the last American High Resident Commissioner in the Philippines. Representing on behalf of the Philippines is Manuel Quezon III, MLQ's grandson.

On rescuing the Jews, was it not Nick Joaquin, Filipino writer who described Rizal, “THE WANDERING JEW"? Incidentally, the phrase is the title of a book, that happened to be a cherish possessions of our National Hero.

The “imaginary meeting” between Jose Rizal and Raoul Wallenberg at Earl Bales Park is more than a passing fancy as we imagine Rizal so deeply proud of his people's compassion, hospitality, genuine sympathy and understanding of abused victims of injustice, racism and tyranny. He can tell the Swedish diplomat the “UNTOLD STORY” of the heroic efforts and humanitarian role his countrymen offering sanctuary to German and Austrian Jews who with all probability were to die in crematories but instead, they found a safe haven in the Philippines! And they did.

In short, Rizal would be so much pleased to know that his countrymen did not fail him or have forgotten his teachings, that "THERE ARE NO TYRANTS WHERE THERE ARE NO SLAVES."

                                                **************************************************

Here is the REACTION from Knights of Rizal, Sir Barry Bowman, KGOR then deputy commander for the United Kingdom wrote:

Dear Illustrious members of our Order.

It was nice to read something good for a change especially about Unity, and Brotherhood and obviously two important heroes who have helped change the world.

Being Jewish and as far as I am aware only 3 Jewish members of the Order are alive today, Henry Kissinger, myself and one other whose name fails me at the moment, are very proud of the wonderful genuine Filipinos who opened the doors to the refugees from Nazi Germany. More than 25000 Jewish people settled in the Philippines during that horrendous time and it was after the war when a lot went back to their roots, we then had a large Jewish community of US Servicemen, and then after them came the Israeli settlers and businessmen. There is a beautiful synagogue in Sen Gil Puyat Avenue which I visited a number of years ago and it was an early newspaper that was encased in a glass showing PHILIPPINES A SAFE HAVEN FOR JEWS. My heart was so full and overflowing with love for the Philippines I rushed back to UK armed with copies of this wonderful article.

To all Filipinos everywhere, I would like to say here and now that the Philippines is the only place in the world where there is no Anti-semitism and no one asks What are you? This is the most fantastic thing to a Jew to know that he is among friends where persecution because of religion is not alive in the Philippines.

As a member of the Knights I am doubly please when I read about the two monuments. The Israeli Government have also a Dedication to Rizal; in Intramuros where he was incarcerated and also monuments and streets named after our Hero, Rizal himself spoke fluent Hebrew amongst the 22 languages he spoke.

To all Filipinos everywhere and especially our Knights of Rizal, let us look at these two great men and say why are we having so much infighting. Why don't we say enough is enough. Let us get on with each others in the Brotherly love that we know and have seen emulate from these great men. Let Manila know we are displeased with their attitudes and power struggles. That is not what we joined for. Gentlemen let us salute the ideals of these two great men and tell Manila this is what we want, Peace Harmony and Unity.

Yours in Rizal

Sir Barry Bowman KGOR

Deputy Regional Commander for Europe

Hi, Dr. Magno,
there are quite some letters from Rizal and his friends referring to Laong Laan and Dimasalang.
I checked my DB: Rizal also signed the following works with Laong Laan:
- La instruction
- Las Dudas
- A mi (Muse)
- El Aamor Patria
- Las viajes
- Revsita de Madrid
- Juan Luna
- Mariang Makiling

Rizal used his pseudonym "Dimasalang" in the pamphlet:"La vision de Fray Rodriguez".

HI ALL,

There you go. The prodigious researcher, who spends his own money researching on Rizal,
and he is not even a Filipino! It makes me feel ashamed someone else other than a Filipino
like me would love Rizal so much as to do all these.

Again, I'm calling Manila to recognize the works of this Belgian Rizalist, Sir Lucien Spittael.
Let us not allow the fire in his heart to extinguish.

I suggest, the researcher Sir Lucien and the historian Sir Joe to collaborate on Rizal.

I'm sure so many more projects will be completed if these two cooperate.

Non omnis moriar,

Sir Manny Bade

Sir Manny,

Now you can please understand somehow WHY Lazir began writing, in 2006-2007.

Quiambao pushed for Paras' appointment, two weeks AFTER Sir Lucien Spittael's appointment was signed by Sir Hilario! Did Quiambao dupe Sir Hilario to withdraw Sir Lucien's appointment and replace it with Paras' name, who attempted to introduce his "FILIPINO MUNA" policy in Europe, bringing SHAME to the KOR, driving Sir Hans Schoof, Dr Sir Fritz Hack-Ullmer, Sir Ernest(o) Blumentritt, former Mayor Sir Manfred Holtzmann, Sir Klaus Hartung, and about 1/3 of the Wilhelmsfeld-Heidelberg Chapter to RESIGN from the KOR!

Lazir would have been the VERY FIRST to RESIGN! But when he saw the spate of resignations, Lazir then decided to WRITE to EXPOSE the KOR Injustices committed by Quiambao and his henchmen, whatever the consequences! For Lazir, RIZALISM is not being a KOR member, but ACTIVE propagation of the ideals, principles and teachings of the Philippine National Hero! Dr Jose Rizal was a fighter Lazir admired and wanted to emulate, no holds barred! Quiambao and Paras are only two of the FAKE “Rizalists” unmasked by Lazir! Remember the story about the “Emperor With No Clothes”? Quiambao might think he runs an “empire” stretching upon all 4 corners of the globe, but like the small boy in that fairy tale, Lazir pointed out that Quiambao is that “Emperor” his stooges/henchmen praise to high heavens for his “elaborate, expensive, fine clothing” that actually isn’t there! (Cover s--t with gold, it will remain as is!)

(Lazir makes it clear he’s not putting anyone down, Paras specifically. Truthfully, it is they, thru their action/s or inaction/s that bring THEMSELVES down! Lazir merely writes what he sees and recognizes! Lazir must write because he wants to INFORM everyone about the simple TRUTH!

Simple question: What does Paras know about Dr Jose Rizal? Answer: not much! Likewise, what contribution has Paras brought to Rizalism, other than SHAME, by pretending to be a Rizalist? Answer: not much! What will Lazir get from writing falsely about Paras? Answer: NOTHING!

Hence Lazir is merely reporting FACTUALLY about what type of person Paras is. Again, truthfully, Paras is, as cheap as he could, USING/ABUSING others, hell-bent to take the place vacated by Mushake, to get KGCR, Pro Patria, to be the highest Filipino in KOR-Europe, reportedly with the backing of Quiambao, which sadly has been successful thru the connivance/signature of Esguerra!

What HOLD has Paras upon Quiambao that Paras practically gets what he wants?

Is it true that Quiambao is the modern-day Padre Damaso in the Noli, who fathered the girl Maria Clara?

Should Lazir ask more specific questions or will Paras/Quiambao and their NEGATIVE influence now vanish from KOR-Europe?

Why therefore, is Lazir so pre-occupied with putting JUSTICE where Justice belongs?
Answer: To correct the INJUSTICEs done to the honorable name of the GREAT MALAYAN.

When is enough of the ABUSE upon the hero’s good name, ENOUGH!

Dr Sir Pablo Trillana III, Sir, is there anything NOBLER for a simple Knight of Rizal to do than seek expedient JUSTICE for the good name and honor of the PRIDE OF THE MALAY RACE? Lazir respectfully and humbly asks the KOR Body and KOR decision-makers: Is/Was it WRONG for Lazir to follow Dr Rizal’s example of using the pen, to write to CORRECT the INJUSTICES done, tarnishing the GOOD name of Dr Jose Rizal? Lazir did just that, and he began writing in 2006-2007! Then came Samuela with his arbitrary and one-sided, unjust, ILLEGAL persecution of non-existent Rizal “Moreno”! Upon orders of Quiambao? Pushed by Esguerra with his signature?)

Who are these men who quit? How significant are they to Rizalism of today? Why did Lazir DELETE the “Sir” from KOR members he thinks have DEMOTED themselves to mediocrity, below par, now simply addressing them by their last names?

1. Sir Hans Schoof has single-handidly funded the translation of the Fili to German language! Anybody interested to know how much the cost is for this extensive/costly translation work, from Spanish/English to German, to fund? He quit because Quiambao reportedly pushed for UNQUALIFIED Paras, effectively shutting-out highly-QUALIFIED Sir Lucien Spittael.

(Lazir doesn’t discriminate upon race, skin color, age, gender, profession, religious affiliation! Lazir WANTS the MOST QUALIFIED, with INTEGRITY and CHARACTER, not an IGNORAMUS to lead. Dr Jose Rizal was no mediocre personality. Lazir admires Sir Lucien Spittael NOT because of his European blood, but simply because the gentleman WORKS to bring HONOR to the good name of the National Hero of the Philippines!)

2. Dr Sir Fritz Hack-Ullmer, a respected Heart Specialist/Internist here in Heidelberg, is the great grandson of Pastor Ullmer. Paras reportedly grumbled about (non-existent!) European discrimination in KOR-Europe during a speech he made somewhere in the Black Forest. Sir Fritz vigorously protested, validly arguing that his great grandfather took a Filipino stranger, Dr Jose Rizal, into his own home! Proof of Paras' ignorance of Rizaliana! Sir Fritz and his brother, jurist Dr Sir Hans Hack-Ullmer personally donated the priceless "Ullmer Collection" of Dr Rizal's correspondence, sketches, postcards, notes, and the like to the Philippine government of Pres. Carlos Garcia, earning them the country's gratitude and recognition, bestowing upon the two the Orders of Sikatuna, Ranks of Maginoo. Dr Sir Fritz Hack-Ullmer almost single-handidly raised funds in the amount of approx. Euro 33,000 for the renovation of the Wilhelmsfeld RIZAL PARK that added the busts of Dr Jose Rizal’s friends/benefactors: Prof Ferdinand Blumentritt, Pastor Karl Ullmer, Prof Dr Rudolf Virchow, Prof Dr Otto Becker.

Shouldn’t the Supreme Council recognize these UNSELFISH deeds of this soft-spoken gentleman from Heidelberg, Germany? Is it too much to ask KOR IHQ to refrain from adding INSULT to INJURY by promoting the kinds of inutile Paras, Guansing, Nollas, Alcoba to KGOR, then to Area/Regional positions? Pls remember, this organization is named after the PRIDE OF THE MALAY RACE, a no mediocre individual! But what did IHQ do? Instead of correcting the WRONG in 2006 by pulling back the ERRONEOUS Paras appointment to Europe Regional Commander, the duo Quiambao/Esguerra rammed Paras, the SHAME of Europe, into the European KOR scene with Esguerra sealing the Paras appointment with his own signature! How pathetic, really!

3. Sir Ernest(o) Blumentritt is the grandson of Ferdinand Blumentritt. At 98 yrs, he still has unbelievably very good memory and an active mind in a relatively healthy body! When Lazir personally visited him, organized by Sir Lucien Spittael, the latter wanted to ask for a copy of the Blumentritt Family Tree. Sir Ernest(o) told Sir Lucien that he already gave him (Sir Lucien!) a copy! This gentleman lives alone, still works his garden, does household chores, all alone by himself! On our visit, he personally prepared/set the table for coffee for 4 people, cake/pastries included!

4. Sir Manfred Holtzmann is the former Mayor of Wilhelmsfeld , now celebrating its 300 yrs Founding Anniversary this year 2010. Sir Manfred was instrumental in the donation by Wilhelmsfeld of that particular portion of land now known to Rizalists worldwide as RIZAL PARK!

Let's keep our BP low, as we do right

for country and people!

:)
Lazir
-proud Filipino Knight who will not shrink from his duty to uphold the good name of The Great Malayan that others only USE/ABUSE in the furtherance of their vested self-interests!

Thanks,
How about Rizal as May Pagasa? It would be improbable that Andres Bonifacio and Jose Rizal were using same pseudonyms. As noted previously, the marker - a coded message to Katipuneros to begin the revolt - under Bonifacio's statue in Caloocan City was signed by MAYPAGASA (who was Bonifacio). Do we have reference of Rizal using May Pagasa as a pseudonym?

Sir Lazir,

All your points well taken.

Let us now wait for the new supreme commander to right what was wrong. Indeed, all the KOR is waiting,
specially the Germans with historical ties to our national hero. These people are not just like you and me
wannabes who want to be part of the KOR, these are relatives and direct descendants of Rizal's friends
and contemporaries. It would be a shame if they will leave the Order for good and worse, in disgust.

Brother Knights,

Each day we wake up and welcome the morning sun, we greet "Good morning!" It is "good" -- we wish and hope -- as it is another new beginning. A renewal of life!

The new leadership in the Order of the Knights of Rizal offers us an opportunity for a new beginning -- a renewal for the Order. And we should support it to achieve such difficult task.

For years now, we read a litany of exposés of wrong doings and abuses among and within the Order. These have brought disillusions, disgust, distrust and shame, resulting in the embarrassment or damage of the reputation of the OKOR around the world and the resignation of respectable men from the Order. Meanwhile, there is much to be done to fulfill the Rizalian vision. We have our obligation to our youth, our duty to contribute to our communities, our commitment to live the Rizalian ideals and philosphy. Often times, we get disturbed and derailed because of unresolved issues within our group. This has to come to an end.

I move that the Supreme Council creates a body composed of impartial and reasonable Knights -- with representation from the Philippines, Europe, USA, Canada and other areas -- to investigate all these complaints, collect evidences, and submit its findings and recommendations to the Supreme Commander. Computer network technology (from electronic mail to video conferencing) can make this happen without having to meet physically. Regional or international assemblies can provide a final opportunity for the body to deliberate -- among themselves -- on difficult issues.

We cannot assume order in the Order without resolving these perennial issues with reason, fairness, and justice. Neither can we claim to be the ambassadors of Rizalian thoughts and priciples if we are blatant violators of the same.

It is time that the new day brings us a renewed fraternal association.

Good morning! Good day!

Brothers all,

We have the momentum!
Sir Jun Zerrudo (and his proposals/solutions to modernize the KOR for the 21st century) should be hauled back into the ship!
Lazir is more than willing to put his energies to good use to make KOR the illustrious organization it is supposed to be!
REFORM proposals worldwide Chapters submitted in 2005 (?) should be incorporated into an amended Constitution & By-Laws, for ready ratification by the KOR General Assembly in September 2010 in Las Vegas, NV.
If Lazir never was inclined to attend a single KOR Assembly, it was because of their more Fun! Fun! Fun!, less Rizalian character; more form, less substance.
A KOR CHA-CHA is Rizalian and modernization is long overdue.
Lazir will apologize to good Knights he inadvertently maligned.
The KOR By-Laws must be equally-applied not only to “Morenos”, but even more to “Quiambaos”, “Esguerras”, “Samuelas” to dispel doubts of partiality!
Good Knights should stay and bad Knights should go, or at least get demoted/disciplined, if proven to be so, as investigated by the body you proposed, Bro. Raymund.

Let’s do GOOD!

For country and people!

:)
Lazir
-if we REFORM the KOR, we could lose. But if we don't, we have already lost!

Dear Fellow Knights,

The shining armor of the brave knight from Hawaii, Sir Raymond Liongson and
the ever biting pen of Lazir woke me up from slumber. Just like our hero Dr.
Jose Rizal who opened the eyes of our ancestors long, long time ago, it is
only fitting that I thank you both for doing so. I also thank Sirs Joe
Luzadas, Manny Bade and others who also helped in setting the tune of a new
beginning and renewal in the KOR.

Did I hear/read a fellow knight suggesting KOR-IHQ to set up a Truth
Commission? What a coincidence! Yesterday Canadian Prime Minister Stephen
Harper made a historic apology for the wrongs done to Native people during a
bleak period in Canadian history that began in 1870s and only ended in
1990s. A panel of 3 commissioners with the national Truth and Reconciliation
Commission began hearing first-hand stories of those abuses.

It has been a long time coming. Too long.

Accussations made by some KOR member knights and/or ex-KOR member knights
against some KOR officers in the past few years are appalling considering
KOR to be the defender and ambassador of the teachings it is accused of. It
is my hope and recommendation that a new commission similar to the Truth and
Reconciliation Commission in Canada (TRC) be set up by IHQ as proposed by
Sir Raymond Liongson from Hawaii.

I fully agree with Sir Raymond. We can not be ambassadors of Rizal's
teachings and principles and at the same time blatant violators of the same.
Rizalian attitude, actions and principles should be the norm among all the
members and most especially in the officers of KOR. It is only then that we
can call ourselves Knights of Rizal.

I believe that our newly elected Supreme Commander, Sir Pablo Trilliana III,
whose name I heard is highly respected by all his peers, will put an end to
these never ending accussations and resolve the issues once and for all.

I for one, together with all of you who already announced support for the
newly elected SC in the IHQ hereby also pledge support and congratulates
each and everyone of them.

There must be a KOR protocol to be followed to put this motion through the hierarchy.

We must make sure we follow it and monitor its conclusion. A strategy by us must be put into motion, tasks assigned/accepted and eventually followed up. We must stand united again and all must/be returned to the fold.

Can someone start the ball rolling?

Regards,
Nito

Brother Nito,
You are right. At this stage, this is an idea. There must be an established protocol to move this. If none, one must be developed and accepted. It is important that the body (Truth Commission or whatever we call it) to look into this is composed of reasonable and fair members of the Order. This is easier said than done. But I believe we have people who are respectable and competent to head this. Honorable Sir Hilario Davide Jr. comes to mind.

The ball has began (resumed?) rolling. We need good players to take it to the goal.

Brothers all,

Sir Hilario indeed is an excellent choice, no doubt!
He once chaired Erap's impeachment case, and is of international renown.

KOR must be careful to separate the grain from the chaff.
Candidates must possess, at the least 3 of any of these: Character, Competence, Integrity, Honesty, Probity.
In addition, there must be a good mix of Filipinos and non-Filipinos.
Lazir will provide names of Knights he knows could speak for themselves!
To him, rank is immaterial because the KGOR rank has been compromised and handed out left/right like cheap candy!
May the leadership now choose names wisely and with Guidance from Heaven!

From Europe, Lazir respectfully recommends these names (in alphabetical order):

Sir Dennis Barcelona, resigned but still an Honorable Knight
Sir Don Brennock, Dublin (Ireland) Chapter Commander
Dr Sir Fritz Hack-Ullmer, resigned but still an Honorable Knight (good command of the English language)
Dr Sir Hans Hack-Ullmer, Jurist, Cologne, Germany (good command of the English language)
Sir Gilbert Isaac, Hamburg Chapter
Sir Francois Ooms, Brussels (Belgium) Chapter Commander
Sir Ramon Mayuga, prolific writer, Essen (Germany)
Sir Helmut Merkel, Dossenheim Police Chief (retired), Wilhelmsfeld-Heidelberg Chapter
Dr Sir Nonong Repotente, MD, Hamburg (Germany) Chapter Commander
Sir Dominik Saegart, Belgium (he authors this regular KOR Circular/Report of many pages!)
Sir Lucien Spittael, untiring researcher and outstanding Rizalist through and through
Sir Van Thilo, Holland (soft-spoken and able leader)
Sir Rainer Weber, Wilhelmsfeld-Heidelberg, Germany Chapter Commander (good command of the English language)

From Canada, the ff:

Sir Manny Bade, Canada
Sir Popoy Cana, former Regional Commander, Canada
Sir Voltaire de Leon, Rizal Society of Ontario
Sir Fran Pulumbarit, respected Rizalist, potential Regional Commander, entire Canada
Sir Lino Reyes, Canada
Sir Emmanuel Yanga, Canada (fair and just Knight)
Sir Jun Zerrudo, questionably/illegally "expelled" for being a True Rizalist!, Scarborough Chapter

From Hawaii:

Bro. Raymund Liongson, Hawaii Chapter Commander

From Continental US:

Sir Tony Abad, CT (?) Chapter, KOR World Webmaster/Moderator
Sir Joe Luzadas, Florida (transient Canadian)

Lazir apologizes if he couldn't nominate some qualified names because he doesn't know all of them. Surely many are qualified, but many of them remained quiet. Likewise, Lazir would commit an injustice nominating someone simply because of friendship!

Let the ball keep rolling...
Let's try to put CLOSURE to past KOR Injustices!

for country and people!

“We are pleased to share with you Davide’s acceptance of the challenge to form and lead a Truth Commission that would shed light on unresolved controversies,” Aquino said in Filipino in his 23-minute inaugural speech.

“Whoever commits misdeeds should face justice. We cannot continue having a system without accountability,” Aquino continued.

“To those who are talking about reconciliation, if they mean that they would like us to simply forget about the wrongs that they have committed in the past, we have this to say: There can be no reconciliation without justice,” he said.

“To those who have wronged me, I can forgive you and I have forgiven you already. To those who have wronged the people, I have no right to forget your transgressions. Turning a blind eye on misdeeds will breed more misdeeds),” he said to loud and long applause.

Good morning Sir Lazir,

As long as they are unwilling to change for the good of the majority,
and because they believe that they are in power and they can do whatever
they want
because they are the " BOSS ", our Knights of Rizal organization will
not improve, our dream of a transparent and a fair leadership will not
be accomplished.
They should follow P-NOY's way of running the new Philippine government.

Pres. Noynoy's inaugural speech was very loud and clear " Kayo ang boss
ko ".

Cheers !

May I be so bold as to state what I believe should be quite obvious to all democrats.
Sir Hilario Davide's election as Supreme Commander was welcomed universally four years ago but, unfortunately, his term was cut short by a call to an even greater service to his Country. Why can we not, as an Organisation, honour his legacy by now establishing as similar
Truth Commission within our Order to finally deal with and give closure to all the actual and perceived ills and troubles of the past ten years, particularly in Europe and Canada. It could give us the 'bright new dawn' that we all hope the election President Aquino has given to the Philippines and its great people.

Furthermore, 'they' are most definitely NOT 'the boss'. The Philippines is a Republic. It has a democratic constitution, judiciary and legislature.(how these actually operate is irrelevant for the sake of this premise) Republic Act 646 is the governing Act with regard to the Knights of Rizal. That means, quite specifically, that the general body of Members assembled is the ultimate authority, de jure, of this Public Corporation in all matters relating to the operation and control of the Order.
We wait in the great hope of hearing from the 'top table', "Kayo ang boss ko."

Non Omnis Moriar.

Sir Don,

I received this email, and I am sure the others do too.

Thing is you already stated it so perfectly that there was nothing more to add from us the rank and file.

It is the IHQ that we are waiting to hear from. Based on our years of experience, though, I'm not holding my
breath that it's gonna happen.

Excellent writing, clear-cut proposals and transparent, but WHY didn't I read it here?
Let's ask Sir Tony Abad, Connecticut, USA.

Thanks for the good writing, as always Sir Don!
