## v1.2.3 — May 18, 2026

### What's new
- **Venue *and* profile pages split upcoming and past events.** Past
events are tucked into their own section on both the venue page and
every user's profile, so each page always leads with what's coming
up next. Visit someone's profile and you'll immediately see what
they have planned, with everything they've already hosted listed
below. Empty sections are hidden so the page stays clean.
- **"Plan something here" lands on step 1.** Tapping "Plan something
here" on a venue now opens Create Event already on step 1 with the
venue pre-attached — no more auto-jumping past the details screen.
- **Add to phone calendar.** On Android and iOS, "Add to calendar" now
opens your device calendar's "new event" UI directly with everything
pre-filled. No more share-sheet detour for a .ics file.
- **Activity typeahead everywhere.** Both Create Event and the Discover
filter now draw from a 300+ activity catalog. Start typing and
matching suggestions appear; anything you type that isn't in the
catalog still works and gets added so the next person sees it as a
  suggestion too.
- **Existing events match the new activity catalog.** Events created
before the typeahead landed have had their activity names aligned with
the catalog (e.g. "go-karting" → "Karting"), so they now show up under
the matching Discover filter and in typeahead suggestions.
- **Add a venue, get a map pin automatically.** Creating a new venue
from the mobile app now geocodes the address as soon as you save,
so the venue lands at the right spot on the map — and shows up with
a real distance in "Nearest to me" — without having to drop a pin
manually. There's also a "Use my location" affordance for when you're
  on-site.

### Fixes
- **"Nearest" sort now actually sorts by distance.** With a home
location set in Settings, events at nearby venues correctly rank
above far-away ones — previously, missing venue coordinates pushed
some local events down behind events on the other side of the world.
Existing venues without coordinates have been backfilled with real
address-level locations so the ordering reflects actual proximity.
- **Distances on event/venue cards are real.** Where "Nearest to me" used
to fall back to an arbitrary order for venues missing coordinates,
cards now show an accurate distance to your home location.

### Under the hood
- App version bumped to 1.2.3.
