We have been shooting some high speed content for tool manufacturers and the optical filters have been great for protecting the lenses for flying metal chips. We have additional clear filters for effects using removable diffusion spray, fishing line and other objects in front of the lens for specific looks and feelings we have tested for narrative work. These are high quality (as are all Revar Cine products we have purchased) and a great value.
I purchased several batches of these PA Tears and the salt content was not what I was expecting. If you've ever made a PA cry on set and tasted their tears you'll know where I'm coming from.
Crying locations PAs a silent lock-up does not make.
Honestly though, using this filter yields dramatically better results than carefully smearing the lens with Vaseline.
Great piece of kit! Paired with my Xeen cine lenses/Pola+ and a Komodo X, best results Ive been able to get while maintaining a .71 adapter to effectively make the camera full frame. Perfect pair for my needs, hoping to get another for my B cam :)
I was encouraged to try them out at a Cinegear in LA and ended up getting the entire set in RF mount.
When you have a 6K camera, you need to have the resolving power and these babies (for all intents and purposes they are tiny) deliver!
Something very important about the history of these lenses, they were designed from the ground-up as cine lenses without taking a stills lens and striping it out and doing a conversion.
First on the practical aspect,
Gears are in the same position for the entire set.
Filter thread is 77mm and front diameter is 80mm across the set.
The red section of the barrel near the lens mount is a consistent 65mm which is rather important because it allowed me to attach The Lens Cuff and mount a focus motor directly on the lens while leaving the front entirely free for use with a matte box.
The damping of the focus and iris rings is consistent and buttery smooth.
Focus markings are accurate.
All that ties well with the all metal construction while keeping the weight down.
As for the optics themselves,
Distortion is kept to a minimum, being barely noticeable even on the 10mm.
Breathing is very well controlled and only if you put some effort you can see it.
The coatings work perfectly to eliminate aberrations and flaring while contrast and colour accuracy are comparable to lenses with a few zeros added to the price tag.
And the curved aperture blades render a pleasing out of focus bokeh.
In short, I absolutely love working with the Meike Mini Primes and the fact that I can fit the entire set in my backpack with two RED Komodos and a laptop, makes them the best Cine Travel Set!
This very specific diopter is just what I needed to create a very specific effect. It takes a very good lens and adds the right amount of distortion to the edges; making the center the focus of the frame.
Love this thing! I am all about being light weight and efficient as possible so I use the 2mm thin filters which are more fragile than the normal 4mm. This case gives me piece of mind that they will always be protected.

The new 12mm lens is currently the widest t/2.9 lens that can cover sensor up to both full frame & vista vision size (wider than full frame), making it one of the ideal wide angle option for both professional cinema cameras and mirrorless cameras.
Designed with standard 0.8 mod gears on both aperture and focusing rings for easy installation of follow-focus system. An extended 270 smooth focus throw is designed for accruate focus pulling. The entire enclosure of the lens is made up of aluminum alloy.
A 114mm step-ring is included in the package to expand the front diameter to fit with industry sized matte box. Venus Optics have tested with a number of matte boxes in the market and it is still free of vignetting on VV sensor with the matte box installed.

Simplify and increase the accuracy of the image capturing and processing workflow. ZEISS eXtended Data unifies two data sets: key lens data based on the Cooke /i* Technology and the ZEISS distortion and shading lens data. After recording on set together with the video files, they can be applied in post-production for compositing for example by using the ZEISS developed lens plugin.
