Apology for last emails + Koolodoor update (Android, iOS, web)

Quick apology before anything else: my previous emails did not render very well in Gmail (the bullet points ended up squished side-by-side instead of as a clean list). Sorry about that — this one should be much easier to read.


Thank you for staying on the beta and helping ship better releases. If you have a minute, please update to the latest build on both platforms — it includes two small releases I want you to have.


Please update the app:

Open the link on your phone, install or update, and you should land on v1.1.4+8 (or newer if another build goes out after this email).


Web is also up to date — same release line at https://koolodoor.com. No action needed, just refresh if you have it open.


Heads-up — public launch is close. Once the current builds are approved on both stores (Google Play and Apple App Store), Koolodoor will become fully public: no beta group, no TestFlight invite, no waitlist — anyone in Morocco will be able to search “Koolodoor” and install instantly, just like any other app. Your testing in this beta phase is exactly what gets us across that line.


What shipped:

  • v1.1.3+7 (8 May) — pushed without a separate email: focused on performance, especially on customer-facing screens (faster, snappier, smoother day-to-day use).
  • v1.1.4+8 (today) — Fix: regression where “Open in Maps” for the store location did not work correctly — that path should work again. Plus: a small vibe-coded touch — a nicer animation in Discovery so browsing feels a little more alive.

Recent progress (last ~2 weeks):

Biggest highlight — QR menus for restaurants. Restaurants can now use QR code menus they can share digitally and print for tables. Customers scan and land on the restaurant’s menu on koolodoor.com (same flow as the share links, /b/...). If you run or know a venue, this is the feature to try first.


Also shipped:

  • Faster startup with a branded boot experience (no more static splash dominance).
  • Customize & cart: snappier item customization, skeleton loaders, faster validation, smoother images.
  • Smarter location: instant first paint with a sensible default (Hay Al Qods, Oujda) and more reliable first GPS fix.
  • Shareable links for menus and items on koolodoor.com/b/..., with Android App Links and iOS Universal Links so links open directly inside the app when installed.
  • iOS beta is live on TestFlight; Android beta continues on Play.
  • This week’s polish: v1.1.3+7 performance pass + v1.1.4+8 Open-in-Maps fix and Discovery animation.

Next on the roadmap:

  1. Public launch on Google Play and the App Store — open to everyone, no invite needed.
  2. Native in-app orders (moving beyond the current manual WhatsApp flow).
  3. Native in-app payments.
  4. Internal wallet + automated payouts for businesses.
  5. Continued speed and quality polish across all surfaces (web, iOS, Android).

iOS — how to install or update (during beta):

  1. On your iPhone, open the TestFlight invite link: https://testflight.apple.com/join/5HcTpF3k
  2. The page walks you through two simple steps: Step 1 — Install Apple’s TestFlight app (if you don’t have it yet). Step 2 — Open the same link again to view and Install (or Update) the Koolodoor beta.

After the public launch, TestFlight will no longer be required — Koolodoor will be installable directly from the App Store like any normal app.
