When playing a game and there is 6 letters I'm trying to form a word.
It would be nice to have a button to the left of the "hint" button
that would scramble the letters up, and give me a nice refresh on my
brain to keep trying to work at it if I'm stuck.

Lots of basic word games have this feature. Especially these kind of
games. I think it will be a nice add on.

We were thinking about shaking the device to do that. My idea was for
phase 2 to have tho source rows at the bottom scramble if you give the
device a shake.

In phase 1 the problem is it won't know which to scramble when you
shake it. So a simple button may need to suffice.

Also an interesting idea!

Shaking is a very neat idea since it is the iPhone.

Maybe the last row of words touched would scramble?

And or maybe a box off to the right where we can lock and unlock the
rows. So that only unlocked rows will scramble. That way if we think
we have solved the word and spelled it correctly, we can lock it and
it won't get messed up.

I like the lock box idea. That might even work for phase 2 as well.
Gotta put that on the request list!

Regarding getting unstuck on that 6 letter word in Phase I......

In the original board game the idea was that the letters (magnetic and a
magnetically receptive board) could be physically moved around. So rather
than trying to decipher the scrambled word in Phase I in one's head, the
player would move the letters around until the rearranged letters helped to
reveal a portion of the word and the brain did the rest. Sometimes this
required moving only one letter, while other times it required moving
multiple letters until a sufficiently recognizable pattern emerged and the
player has that AHAH experience.

With that said it's an interesting idea to re-randomize the letters by
shaking the unit. This is something we've talked about at the outset of
Phase II. Once the three words appear at the bottom of the screen, the
player could shake the device and the letters within each line would be
randomly redistributed.

Oh ok I see the reason it's not able to be scrambled, If that was the
original idea for the board game.
But I feel this is a new system and the game should be adoptive of
this device and capabilities.
Scrambling will only help your game. People aren't going to complain
saying "I don't want this scramble feature" But they will complain
saying "I want a scramble feature" This will just avoid bumps down the
road, and you guys understand how important itunes reviews are.

Yeah that idea for Phase II would work perfectly fine. Since it
doesn't matter if all the letters are scrambled.
But for phase I is when people are really trying to figure out the
answer, and seeing as how there is only one maybe two correct answers
to Phase I, that is where people will get frustrated if they can't
solve it. Because they will not want to move on until they get it, or
get frustrated with the game and not like it. So yes we can manually
move them around ourselves, but the scramble would be cool and less of
a hassle for us and make for a better user experience, which is what
we are going for.
