Oh yeah ok, 7+11, because I got a 9+9 word which gave me a lot of
points. So we are definitely rewarding the player more points for
creating a longer word because it's harder to think of an 11 letter
word than two 9 letter words? Idk. That's fine in my opinion, I just
need to keep working at it, I'll get it.
The maximum is 231+ whatever the difference is for making an 11 letter
word vs. a 9 letter word - the difference for making a 9 letter word
vs. a 7 letter word.
Which isn't easy, but yes certainly obtainable fairly quickly. Which
might have people stop playing if they essentially "beat the game" and
can't improve anymore. Well what I have thought about, is a timer. Get
rewarded higher points for lower times (or vice versa if the clock is
counting down) So that way, people can always improve their time and
getting such a long word quickly.
So if it counts up, for how long you have taken so far. You would need
to put the time next to the highscore. So if you tie the high score
with a lower time, you beat it.
If the timer counts down, when it reaches zero, you would end phase I
(and or II) and go to the next Phase, or end the game with the ammount
of points you have achieved. Which I think is good for the game, a
sense or urgency and a good way to compete for more.
No I did not use training mode. The score in the bottom right of the
screen wouldn't have said 231 as my high score because it wouldn't
have counted remember? But yes I do think the "score summary" page
needs to say if training mode or not, so it's clear. And people aren't
confused at the end of their game as to why their high score doesn't
get registered.
