Subject : MOM_KEY’s Monthly Meeting June 2012
· KEY’s monthly meeting started with a prayer by Lester Noronha and Bridget Aydline Pinto.
· The MOM for the KEY monthly March meeting held on 15-Apr-12 was read out by KEY secretary Lester Noronha and passed by KEY.
· KEY Convener Mr. Charles Gomes guided the KEY members on the objectives of the creation of KEY as a KCA Youth Wing. He also suggested on how the coordination amongst KEY members can be improved when participating in various events such as sports day or any other annual programs such as Dabazo or Kalanjali.
· Former KCA President Mr. Anil Rego and KEY vice president Lionel D'Souza opined that the KEY president holds the final decision on various KEY activities including sports and various cultural activities
· KEY Convener Mr. Charles Gomes suggested having a half a day program by Kanara Entrepreneurs on how to start a business to KEY members. The exact date and other details of this program would be announced in future meetings once these have been worked out.
· It was decided that the picnic for KCA and its youth wing KEY should be held together some time in November 2012 which would help KCA members have more interaction with its youth wing. The tentative dates for the picnic are 11 November 2012 or 18 November 2012.
· KCA President Mr. Naveen D’Souza and KEY Convener Mr. Charles Gomes suggested calling up the committee members in order to intimate them about KEY meetings at least two days before the KEY meeting is held. This could improve communication between committee members and establish a sort of personal touch between the committee members thus leading to better coordination.
· Former KCA President Mr. Anil Rego suggested a restructuring of the KEY goals and objectives which would clearly chalk out the objectives of KEY and thus help the future KEY members in understanding the importance of KEY. This could lead to improved membership and participation in KEY activities. Presently the tentative date and time for KEY restructuring is 01 July 2012 at 03:30 pm and the tentative venue Konkan Bhavan. KCA President Mr. Naveen D’Souza and KEY Convener Mr. Charles Gomes supported this suggestion with various benefits of the restructuring.
· KEY members elucidated on the shortcomings of the existing KEY meetings and suggestions were given on how these could be overcome.
· Former KCA President Mr. Anil Rego suggested a verification of the existing forms in order to ascertain the strength of KEY and to draw up a list of existing KEY members.
· KEY Convener Mr. Charles Gomes and Former KCA President Mr. Anil Rego suggested on how KEY membership can be improved by making the new members more comfortable by helping them in various areas thus improving the participation in KEY.
· KEY Convener Mr. Charles Gomes suggested KEY to hold a charity visit to a rehabilitation center or an old age home. The members then discussed on a suitable time such as Christmas and thereabouts to hold this visit.
· Since the KCA AGM would be held at Konkan Bhavan on 8 July 2012, it was decided that the tentative dates for the next KEY meeting in July 2012 would be announced later based on the availability of Konkan Bhavan as well as the KEY members.
