Konflux Multi-Arch Support: POC Update and Timeline Adjustment (April 2025)

Summary:

Following our update in early March, we're pleased to report continued progress in our Proof of Concept (POC) to transition Konflux's multi-architecture support to Kata-peer-PODs. We've achieved successful launches of s390x and ARM64 PODs, validating the viability of this new technology. However, due to the complexity of enabling each architecture, we are adjusting our production deployment timeline.

Key Achievements:

• Successful launch of s390x PODs on IBM Cloud.
• Successful launch of ARM64 PODs, with contributions to upstream code.

Timeline Adjustment:

The unexpected time required to properly enable each architecture necessitates an adjustment to our projected production deployment timeline. We now expect production deployment work to begin in May, with completion targeted for August (CY25Q3).

Next Steps:

Our immediate next step is to complete the POC work, which includes adding support for the PowerPC architecture.

It's amazing to see we're putting in the effort to integrate with another OCP technology we as a
company are heavily invested in and part of a large vendor community.
