It's time for our monthly activity rollup, and once again, the activity is kind of staggering. Over the last month, we saw 674 Pull Requests, with 449 merged.
🛠️ Technical Highlights: Shipping Key Improvements
🔒 Boosting Security and Reliability
Hermetic Builds are a Go! A key theme this month was enabling hermetic builds across several core projects to enhance build security. Huge thanks to @oswcab for enabling it in tekton-kueue (#108), @enkeefe00 for contributions to etcd-shield (#75) and multi-platform-controller (#588), and @kelchen123's (#182) in konflux-ci/caching.
Preventing Sneaky Overrides: @NigelByrne1 landed a fix in integration-service (#1289) to prevent older snapshots from accidentally overriding newer releases—a crucial win for stability!
⚡ Performance and Quality of Life
Testing Hermeto's Heartbeat: @brunoapimentel added a new E2E test to e2e-tests (#1714) to verify Hermeto's content is correctly tracked in SBOMs, affirming the quality of our hermetic pipeline work.
RPMs Unblocked: A special thank you to @praiskup who merged a fix for rpmautospec builds in konflux-ci/rpmbuild-pipeline via PR #79, closing a long-standing issue and ensuring builds run smoothly.
Faster Releases for the Release Service: @elenagerman dramatically improved the efficiency of the release-service-catalog processes in release-service-utils (#545) by replacing multiple API calls with a single GraphQL query to combat GitHub rate limits. Nice!
Test Cleanup and Migration: @tisutisu spearheaded a necessary migration in both build-service (#483) and image-controller (#230) by updating deprecated Tekton task paths.
