Aloha all,

The 2010 harvest began in earnest last month. We ended up picking
about a 1,000 pounds of cherry.

We expect to have a major ripening occur in about another week. After
that we should be in full harvesting mode.

Aloha all,

Not good news today.

But another reason to only drink 100% Kona coffee!

The Kona coffee district has become infested with the Coffee Berry
Borer (CBB). It originated in Africa, moved to South and Central
America, and Asia.

Now apparently due to the processors/blenders importing green coffee
beans from those regions to make a cheap 10% blend the CBB has escaped
from the green beans and infested several Kona coffee farms from
Kainalua to Honaunau.

More to follow.

Aloha,

It could be in the not too distant future you will only be able to
purchase "Kona Style" coffee!!!

With the way our government has responded in the past I hold out
little hope for the government or the research scientists in finding
us a solution to the coffee berry borer in a timely manner.

Perhaps this was the plan by the blender/processors all along since
they fought for years against banning imported coffee and honest
truthful labels on the blended coffee.

Aloha,

In all of the current chaos and controversy here is another reason and
third party opinion as to why it is best to purchase your 100% Kona
coffee direct from the farm, because some of us farmers give a damn!!!

Aloha,

Well it has now been two weeks since the announcement on the coffee
berry borer and we still do not have any potential solutions offered
by the department of ag!

Aloha,

What a bunch of kaka!

The Feds acknowledge that we experienced almost a 20% loss and
decrease in sales but won't help us!!!

Thanks so much elected officials and bureaucrats on the payroll of
corporate America!!!

Aloha,

Some things just go without saying, so I quote:

http://www.hawaiitribune-herald.com/articles/2010/09/28/local_news//local02.txt

"Our position is that there ought to be a complete ban on the
importation of green coffee," Corker said. "Every year there are
millions and millions of pounds of foreign green coffee brought in
primarily for producing these 10 percent faux Kona coffee blends.

"It appears Hawaii DOA is considering a quarantine of some sort on the
movement of Kona green coffee to other islands, and the irony is, if
they're seeking to protect growers on those other islands, why aren't
they seeking to quarantine green coffee from all other coffee-growing
regions where they clearly have coffee berry borer as well?"

Duh!!!

The ag department just doesn't listen or the politicians for that
matter!!!
