Aloha everyone!

The drought persists. We have not had any rain for 17 days now. We
have only had 1 inch of rain since 12/21/10 when we received 1.3
inches.

We have had two blooms, one on 12/31 and the other major bloom was the
third week of January. Another bloom appears to be developing now.

We are really uncertain how this will work out though. If there is no
moisture for the blooms to develop with they won't develop. We need
water to fertilize. The trees need water to be able to pull the
nutrition up the tree.

All of this is up in the air right now as the national weather service
predicts that the El Nino weather pattern and drought will continue
until at least April.

The 2009 crop is tasting great!

Aloha all,

Sunday night we received the first rain in a month. We got 1.65 inches
here on the farm. The trees look a bit better as a result.

Now we will get another bloom in 7 days or so. This will be the third
major bloom, a minor one occurring now. But the big issue is regular
small rains that replenish the soil moisture so that the blooms and
cherry that forms can properly develop, will those rains come?

Mahalo,
