Aloha all,
We are in the bulls-eye, dead center of the trach for hurricane
Felicia.
You can bet good money that there will be damage to many 100% Kona
coffee fields and farms. Most are inter planted with MacNut or fruit
trees of various sorts.
I expect that a good number of macnut trees and fruit trees will be
taken down and land on top of Kona coffee trees.
Also the heavy rains are likely to erode some farms and wash out
trees.
The winds themselves are likely to strip coffee cherry from the trees
just as we get ready for the harvest to begin in earnest.
The point of this is, order your 100% Kona coffee now. It is likely
the 2009 crop will be substantially reduced and the price will
increase!
Mahalo,
