Aloha all,

It has been a difficult year so far dealing with the drought. We are
still 50% behind on rainfall. It has begun raining again in our area
since April but we are still behind.

Due to the drought our crop was 25% off what we expected for 2009.
Others that got less rain had losses up to 50%.

So obviously there is a potential shortage of Kona coffee from the
2009 harvest. We expect the 2010 crop to be somewhat smaller because
of the die back on the coffee trees and we have also had less
blooming.

Amazing, last night we received 2.5 inches of rain. The ground in
certainly saturated now. Perhaps things are turning around.

I ran across this last night. Annually 6 millions tons of green coffee
beans are produced!

Daily 2.25 billion cups of coffee are consumed!

Absolutely Amazing!

Last week we had a Japanese couple arrive at the Kona airport after
being married in Honolulu. They called me from the airport and the
first thing they wanted was directions to our farm!!!

When your coffee is great I guess not much else matters! We had a very
nice visit with them and gave them a few local tips as far as things
to do while they were here.
