Skype
Chat。
具体的发送格式如下:
+447777123456 Please call me
前面是国际格式的电话号码,中间用空格隔开,后面加上消息。
SMS到Skype的服务的设置和使用在下面这个页面可以看到。
Internet telephone service provider Skype is pushing further into the
mobile realm with the launch of a text messaging, or SMS, service that
lets customers deliver their messages to wireless users on GSM
networks.
Customers can access the “smsgateway,” provided by UK firm
Connectotel, within Skype Chat, and type in the mobile phone number in
international format, followed by the message. The gateway then
delivers the message to the global GSM network. It supports English,
Bulgarian, Croatian, Dutch, French, German, Polish and Russian
languages, among others.
Ahead of the Curve
The Skype to SMS offering is currently available at no charge as a Beta
test service for all customers who obtain authorization from
Connectotel, which is considering the launch of other VoIP gateway
services, including links to and from e-mail, fax and outside data
feeds. That authorization process may take up to 24 hours.
Skype is getting the jump on its VoIP competitors by delivering text
messaging to mobiles, IDC analyst Will Stofega told NewsFactor. “This
is another avenue for communication from the service provider, which
meets the demands of enterprise users as well as consumers,” he said.
Businesses, in particular, value the concept of presence and the
ability to contact workers quickly, said Stofega. SMS already has
proven itself as a moneymaker for wireless carriers, and VoIP providers
see it as another source of revenue.
Focus on VoIP Mobility
“The VoIP companies have to move beyond voice communications to
differentiate themselves from the pack and to make more efficient use
of the broadband pipe,” said Stofega.
Skype is following the lead of ISPs, such as AOL (NYSE: AOL - news),
Yahoo (Nasdaq: YHOO - news) and Microsoft’s MSN, in pushing messaging
among customers, said Yankee Group analyst Su Li Walker. “They are
focused on VoIP-to-mobile, and this is something that makes them more
attractive to potential customers,” she told NewsFactor.
Indeed, Skype recently inked an agreement with Motorola (NYSE: MOT -
news) to collaborate on Wi-Fi and third-generation mobile devices for
Skype’s 25 million registered worldwide users. Last year, the company
launched software designed for handhelds running the Microsoft Windows
Pocket PC operating system.
