I've searched all over the Googles and I still can't find the origin
of this Marmalard/King Laserface reference. Is this from something he
said in a press conference?

I am not sure on the specifics of the origin myself. If I was forced
to guess, I would say it was in an old liveblog (or something to that
effect).
